Shhhh... it's a SURPRISE!
That usually how we start preparing for our amazing Brave Chick Ambushes. The recipient has no idea that some loves them enough to want to celebrate their life or support them in getting the help that they need. Our team then steps in and collects detailed information on the fighter, survivor or their families, then we show up full of energy, unannounced wherever they are to empower them with hope, shower them with gifts (typically things or resources that they need i.e. co-payments, healthy food options and lifestyle education, transportation, cranial prosthesis, financial assistance, post surgical supplies and much more), deposit doses of love, chat like sister friends, induct them into our village and encourage them to stay in the ring and keep fighting. It's a very difficult journey mentally and physically to go through breast cancer and often times they need to be reminded who they are - BRAVE!
We meet as perfect strangers, but by the time we leave we are sisters... family.
